Ms. Underwood earned her Juris Doctor degree from Whittier Law School in 2011 and was admitted to the State Bar of California on Dec 1, 2011. While in law school, Ms. Underwood served as a law clerk for an Orange County Superior Court Judge, The Honorable Ronald Kreber, at Lamoreaux Justice Center. She also worked on the Orange County District Attorney’s Office’s juvenile delinquency panel.
Ms. Underwood also gained invaluable experience providing pro bono legal representation for indigent clients in family law and probate cases as a state certified law clerk for Whittier Law School’s Children’s Rights Clinic. Ms. Underwood was also an active member of her law school community, serving as the Research Editor of the Journal of Child & Family Advocacy, member of the Moot Court Honors Board, and member of the Trial Advocacy Honors Board. Her involvement with the Moot Court Honors Board included participation in the prestigious Jessup International Moot Court Competition.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Underwood received her undergraduate degree in Sociology with a minor in Criminology and graduated with Honors Distinction from The University of Western Ontario in London, Canada (B.A., 2007).
As a child of divorced parents, Ms. Underwood’s understanding of the emotions that attach to her clients’ challenges informs her passionate advocacy on their behalf.
Ms. Underwood is a member of the Orange County Women Lawyers Association, the Orange County Bar Association, and the Orange County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division.
In her spare time, Ms. Underwood practices yoga and volunteers for charitable organizations in the community. In addition to serving as a member of the Junior League of Orange County’s Recruitment Committee, she is involved in their community outreach program providing support and assistance to the Down Syndrome Foundation of Orange County.
